"Finding the Truth" vs. "Winning the Argument"

So, this whole thing about "self-concept" versus obsession with an objective truth: I suppose self concept leads to a need to "win," which is not a huge drive in my truth-seeking Gen X friends. Where other people might try to win at the cost of the truth, people with less self-concept don't concern themselves so much with winning, in the quest for the truth.
